Frequently Asked Questions
Check out some of these frequently asked questions to see if you may be a good fit for the H2F program.
The H2F System is the Army’s primary investment in Soldier readiness and lethality, optimal physical and non-physical performance, reduced injury rates, improved rehabilitation after injury, and increased overall effectiveness of the Total Army. The system empowers and equips Soldiers to take charge of their health, fitness, and well-being in order to optimize individual performance while preventing injury and disease.
The H2F concept will be familiar to professionals in the world of sports. Through H2F, the Army is providing multidisciplinary teams to targeted Brigades (BDEs). These multidisciplinary teams are often known as high-performance teams in the world of sports and are comprised of professionals with specialized training in athletic training, physical therapy, strength and conditioning, nutrition, or sports psychology. This government contract specifically aims at staffing BDEs with Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCCs) and Cognitive Performance Specialists (CPSs). An Army BDE has approximately 5,000 Soldiers.
Most work will be performed either at the BDE’s Soldier Performance Readiness Center (SPRC) or in a Military training environment (i.e., fitness centers/gyms, BDE facilities or administrative areas, outdoors, shooting ranges, field training environments). SCCs/CPSs will be required to observe BDE and below (i.e., Battalion, company, platoon, squad, team) specific training events (e.g., shooting range, obstacle courses, combatives training areas). SCCs/CPSs must be physically able to hike austere environments and terrain (i.e., rocky, no running water, no shelter, no bathroom, no climate control, inclement weather, loud, smoky) while carrying their own backpack with necessary supplies on occasion (<20% of the time).
