James Thornbrugh
James Thornbrugh serves as interim president of Magellan Federal. He has extensive experience in managing complex, global programs that deliver critical behavioral health and counseling services to the government.
Mr. Thornbrugh is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree from Lincoln University and over 27 years of experience in the mental health field with 17 of those years in behavioral health management. Since joining Magellan in 2008, he managed the deployment of crisis responders and health and wellness trainers for Magellan’s commercial Employee Assistance Program.
He also led Magellan Federal’s Military Counseling Division, overseeing multiple programmatic elements including the deployment of counselors at locations worldwide. He brings deep knowledge and experience to federal program operations, scheduling, logistics, performance metrics, and program management. He is a trusted partner to the government and is focused on spearheading growth and new business initiatives for Magellan’s federal market.
