Victim Advocacy/Support
We work with crime victims to ensure they are:
- Treated with fairness, dignity, and a respect for privacy
- Reasonably protected from the accused offender
- Notified of court proceedings
- Present at public court proceedings (if desired) unless the court determines otherwise for fairness or other good cause
- Have access to the Government attorney
- Are provided restitution, if appropriate
- Receive information regarding the conviction, sentencing, imprisonment, and release of the offender
